Magnetic - What is it?
Magnetic sheeting measuring .030" thick is a material used for signs that can enhance any vehicle or steel surface without being permanently affixed to the desired surface. To attach your magnetic to non-magnetic surfaces, steel tape may be used. Vinyl lettering or graphics can be applied to magnetics to create an attractive design to meet your business needs.
When properly cared for, magnetic material has an outdoor life of approximately one year.
Sizes Magnetic material is available in several lengths and is easily cut into shapes, allowing for custom application. Maximum size is 24" x 50'. The thickness is .030 gauge.
Colors To keep cost down, magnetic material is generally stocked in white only. However, you can create a variety of colored backgrounds by overlaying vinyl onto the surface of the magnetic.
Value-Enhancing
There are several ways to increase the value and effectiveness of your magnetic signs:
- Adding additional lettering colors
- Adding a logo
- Utilizing a graphic symbol
- Designing unusual shapes or design backgrounds
Installation and Care
Here are a few points to keep in mind:
A magnetic sign should not be applied to a newly painted vehicle. Allow at least 60 days for fresh paint to cure.
A trained staff member will assist you in determining the proper size for your magnetic sign.
Always make sure that the surface where the magnetic is to be applied is thoroughly cleaned. If small particles are left in the designated area of application it may cause the magnetic not to stick and therefore your magnetic may be lost.
When storing your magnetics do not roll up or fold. Simply place your magnetic on the refrigerator or a filing cabinet (note: do not put on/near a computer)
